Curriculum

Full Professor of Building Construction is Dean Executive Officer at Rieti Headquarter, Director of CRITEVAT – Rieti Research Center for Environment, Landscape Conservation and Sustainable Development and of Postgraduate Course in Green Building and Sustainable Design. He is member of PhD Program in Engineering-based Architecture and Urban Planning and of Postgraduate Course in Architectural Design for Cultural Heritage and Public Spaces Renovation. He took part in research programmes funded by MIUR, CNR and government agency concerning building typology, sustainability and construction. He was coordinator of different research: Typological Transformation and Innovation in Rome Capital City Building Stock, Rome Residential Building Stock in the First Decades of 1900 (MURST ’92-’93) and Building Construction Traditions in Italy (PRIN ’99). In 2000 he participates to International Design Contests: San Lorenzo Urban Transformation in Rome and Rome 3rd Millennium – Possible Identities. He took part in PRIN 2005 Public City: guidelines for sustainable requalification of suburbs and in “Case in Linea” research programmes. In 2007 he contribute to QUAR 2 by PARC concerning the relation between urban quality and sustainability. Since 2008 he is Scientific Coordinator of Microclimate Control Technology Experimentation research program, RiNova Project for public buildings requalification and use of renewable energy and in 2010 supervises Integrated Programs for urban and suburban reorganization in Rieti. In 2011, he coordinates scientific activities for Rieti inner city PLUS programme.
Since 2012 is member of the Scientific Comittee of Journals “Progetto Sostenibile” and “Azero” published by Edicom.
Since ’13 is scientific director of the SOS_UrbanLab CRITEVAT , interdepartmental research center of Sapienza which directs its inception in 2008; part of its activities directed since ’11 study groups investigating in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya UPC , BarcelonaTech on relations between urban morphology , building type , solar radiation and heat-island in the Mediterranean city compact , coordinates Furthermore the research group on “Green Roofs” , which since ’14 plays important experiments on green technology .
